Mandela Day 2018
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” – Nelson Mandela
#DataDotSA decided this year to celebrate Mandela and his 100th year by dedicating 67 minutes to the George SPCA and making a donation of blankets and food. Nelson Mandela led by example and encouraged his people to give a little of their time each day towards making a change close to their hearts or by giving a little of their time in order to make a difference in the life of someone else. He was without a doubt one of the greatest visionaries of our time.
Mandela Day reminds us to try and make the world a better place and by making every day a Mandela Day we are able to celebrate Madiba’s life and legacy in a sustainable way that will bring about enduring change.
Animals are unable to speak for themselves. And when animals are abandoned, neglected, or abused, they need an organisation dedicated to helping them. They need a voice. The Garden Route SPCA are that voice. All animals are helped including cats, dogs, cows, horses, goats, pigs, snakes, birds, ducks, seals, penguins, tortoises, buck, rats, mice, rabbits, crocodiles!!!!!
Made up of George SPCA and Mossel Bay SPCA, the Garden Route SPCA’s mission is to combat cruelty to animals, and to promote the proper care of all animals through advancing proper animal care in the communities served.
Their ability to carry out their work is almost solely dependent on public funding, and they rely heavily on on-going support. Visit their website today.
TAKE ACTION. INSPIRE CHANGE. MAKE EVERY DAY A MANDELA DAY.
