What is VESA?
The Motor Vehicle Security Association of South Africa (VESA) is a non-profit, Section
21 Association which sets and maintain standards for the vehicle security industry.
VESA has become a major partner to motor vehicle Insurers in combating vehicle theft
fraud in the use of the extensive VESA database in validating a vehicle's installed
security systems.
VESA has been regulating the standards of vehicle security products and the installation
thereof for over 20 years.
Part of this process is the issuing of a VESA certificate at installation to verify that the product installed is an ABS Certified product (approved through the Accreditation Bureau for Security and Safety) and that the installation was done by a VESA approved Installation Centre according to set installation specifications.

We, the members of VESA promise:
- To be honest with our clients
- Not to mislead any client or potential client
- To supply the best possible products and services
- Not to make false of misleading claims about our products / services, or spread false information about the products of our competitors, and refrain from making statements open to misinterpretation.
- To adhere to universally accepted business practices, subscribing to open and healthy competition.
- Not to act in a way that will damage the image of the vehicle security industry
- To continuously improve our products and services to provide the best possible protection against theft
- To keep in touch with the latest technological breakthroughs and changes relation to the vehicle security industry
- To promote the improvement of skills and training amongst our staff to the benefit of the vehicle security industry
- To adhere to the requirements and standards of practice as set by VESA
We furthermore declare that we submit ourselves to any disciplinary action that
VESA may deem fit should we be found in breach of any of the above pledges.
The decision of VESA will be final.
