    27 January 2012

A recent successful press conference to Argentinian police, journalists and insurers discussed how DataDot could break the illegal parts trade business model.

Recently our Argentinian colleague held a successful press conference attended by journalists, police and insurers.

The issue of car theft and car jacking was discussed, as car theft contributes significantly to homicide figures due to much of this type of theft being conducted at gun point.

Interestingly most vehicles stolen in Argentina are not expensive models. Older and less expensive cars are targeted for their parts and end up in 'chop shops' where they are stripped and individual components resold

    .

The introduction of whole-of-vehicle-marking (WOVM) will not only serve to significantly impact on the illlegal parts trade but protect vehicle owners and their families.

Police and Insurers in Argentina now have access to a powerful theft deterrent that breaks the illegal parts trade business model.
