The International Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit of the South African Police has recovered several United Kingdom stolen luxury vehicles in South Africa since 2009. Their investigations have led to the identification of a loading area in London, UK.

At the identified premises, several stolen "cloned" vehicles, that were due to be containerised, were recovered. The shipping company took vehicle bookings from customers and then loaded the the stolen vehicles in shared containers. The shipping instruction was that when the vehicles arrive in Durban, South Africa, they would be removed by the shipping agent and delivered to the respective customers.

Forged vehicle registration documents have been used to support the export processes.
