Introduction of the DataDot Protection Guarantee

Why?

• As a result of statistical evidence, DataDot South Africa is in a position to guarantee its product.

From When?

• The DataDot Protection Guarantee has been introduced on particular vehicles fitted from the 1st of March 2009

Qualifying Conditions

• All new Nissans sold from the 1st of June 2009 that have been DataDotted according to specification at the factory
• Vehicles fitted with DataDot in the Aftermarket*. Certain exclusions ** do apply.
• All vehicles accepted onto the DataDot Protection Guarantee Register
• The vehicle must have current theft cover through a registered Insurance Company in South Africa

*Aftermarket - is defined as those vehicles not fitted as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or under the auspices of the OEM.
**Exclusions - those fitted as part of the dealer fitment process at Toyota and GM dealers.

Registration Process

• On fitment, the owner sends an SMS or e-mails register@datadot.co.za or fills in and submits the registration form below.
• The call centre will respond by requesting information that will establish whether that vehicle has been fitted and whether it qualifies for the Protection Guarantee
• A certificate of Guarantee is sent to the vehicle owner via e-mail or post as confirmation of Registration.

Claiming

• In an event giving rise to a claim, the vehicle owner must contact the Administrator within 30 days
• A claim form will be sent which must be completed and returned
• As soon as the owners's insurance company settles his theft claim and the relevant document is sent to DataDot Protection Guarantee, R2000 will be paid to the claimant.

Other Conditions

• The vehicle must be DataDotted as per the specifications of DataDot Technology
• The vehicle is guaranteed under this program for a period of 1 year (12 months)
• The Protection Guarantee may be renewed thereafter. This renewal will be underwritten by Hollard Insurance Company.
• The person who registers must be the registered legal owner of the vehicle
• A written claim is filled with the vehicles owner's Insurance Company, and such a claim is not reflected or otherwise contested by the insurer.
• The owner's claim to DataDot protection Guarantee expires six (6) months from the date that gave rise to the claim.
