DataDot

On 3 June 2009, Business Against Crime South Africa in conjunction with key stakeholders, demonstrated the process followed for the application of the microdot technology to a vehicle. The steps of the process were talked through by Derek Menday of DataDot. This live demonstration was held at Nissan SA, Rosslyn Pretoria. Nissan SA has used the microdot technology on all its vehicles since Oct / Nov 2006.

20 May 2009 - BACSA and stakeholders including the SAPS, the SANDF, the Department of Transport, the Vehicle Security Association of South Africa (VESA), the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), Nissan SA, and four microdot suppliers exploded a microdotted Nissan Almera on the Kroonstad Military Base to test the resilience of the microdot technology.
